Learning is an integrated process, and academics are but one important component.
FACE builds its program and services around best practices for students with autism -those based on current research as well as instructional and evidence-based education and outcomes. These practices:
include a variety of methodologies and approaches for effective intervention and programming.
are based on comprehensive outcome data for each student.
incorporate a multi-disciplinary team approach, including parents.
are reflective of an area of need that drives the curriculum and service plan.
are provided by highly qualified personnel.
Other ingredients for success are equally important at FACE.
Positive School Culture - Positive interventions, compassion and deep respect for the student create an environment where growth and learning thrive.
Individualized Learning - To improve student learning and achievement, measurable goals are based on functioning levels determined through pre-assessment and screening.
High-quality Curriculum - FACE curriculum is driven by individual academic, social and behavioral benchmarks for the student. Our educational program motivates active learners. Curriculum helps students experience the value and relationship between "time on task" and "skill competency."
Collaboration and Partnership - Parents, the child's earliest and most important teachers, are vital partners in their development and in our program. We encourage active participation throughout the student's educational journey. FACE will also work collaboratively with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behaviorists and physical therapists along with community resources to achieve a student's individual goals.
