In my opinion, anyone else watch it? If not, it's on showtime on demand. I'll try to remember to have my mom record it. It was a slap in the face to those with A.S. It was "textbook" yes, when it came to the characters, but everything was exaggerated to the extreme to make us look like complete freaks. The female, main character, with aspergers... was obnoxious. She also treated her boyfriend like crap. The main character male in the movie was a good guy, but they exaggerated his "counting" self soothing habit and in my opinion not only did the character has A.S. , both characters were coming across as "slow" in a way.. the movie pissed me off. Oh, and no we are not so awkward that we would wear a whale costume around because we think that is the real "us" He could relate to whales, hence the title.. so he had a whale costume he wore... COME ON!!! I can relate to animals too, I love animals... a lot actually... I used to have squirrels, rabbits, etc... but I'm not going to dress up as one. As an adult with A.S. you grow and you learn what is "socially acceptable" and plus why would you want to wear a big hot costume anyway? The girl was just annoying and her laugh was irritating. I muted the volume whenever she laughed.. oh well, that's my review on the movie... what is yours?
